MaxWG Privacy Policy

Effective date: July 12, 2026

MaxWG is a WireGuard client app for Apple TV. The short version: we do not collect any data. None.

No accounts

MaxWG has no sign-up, no login, and no user accounts. We have no way to identify you, and we do not want one.

Nothing is sent to us

The app does not transmit any information to us or to any third party on our behalf. There are:

• no analytics or usage tracking,
• no crash-reporting services,
• no advertising SDKs,
• no logs of your traffic, connections, or configurations.

We could not hand over your data even if asked, because we never have it.

Your configurations stay on your device

WireGuard configurations — including private keys, server addresses, and DNS settings — are stored only in your Apple TV's Keychain, Apple's encrypted credential store. They are never uploaded, synced, or backed up to any server of ours. Deleting a tunnel in the app, or deleting the app, removes them.

The browser import feature is local-only

When you add a tunnel "from browser", your Apple TV briefly runs a small web page on your local network so you can paste or upload a config from your own phone or computer. This transfer:

• happens entirely over your local network, directly between your two devices — it never touches the internet or any server of ours;
• is protected by a one-time PIN shown on your TV;
• is only possible while the import screen is open on the TV, and stops as soon as you leave it.

Your VPN traffic is between you and your server

MaxWG is a client tool. We do not operate VPN servers and we cannot see, route, or log your VPN traffic. Your traffic flows directly between your Apple TV and the WireGuard server you choose — your own server or a provider you have a relationship with. That server operator's own privacy practices apply to the traffic that reaches it; please review them.

Purchases are handled by Apple

Upgrades (MaxWG Plus and MaxWG Lifetime) are processed entirely by Apple through the App Store. We never see your payment details. Apple's privacy policy applies to purchase processing: apple.com/legal/privacy. The app checks your purchase status with Apple's StoreKit framework on your device; the result is stored only on your device.

Children

MaxWG does not collect data from anyone, including children.

Changes to this policy

If this policy ever changes — for example, if a future feature required any form of data handling — we will update this page and the effective date above before the change takes effect.
